The Department handles all state criminal appeals cases and assists district attorneys with complex criminal cases at their request. Additionally, the Department of Justice includes the North Carolina State Crime Lab, the North Carolina Justice Academy, and the Sheriffs’ and Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Divisions. **Description of Work** Recruitment Range: $55,221 - $61,294 IMPORTANT NOTE: This posting closes at 11:59:59 PM the night BEFORE the End Date listed. This position is assigned to the North Carolina Justice Academy Training Division and is responsible for researching, developing, and creating law enforcement related materials. This position can be located at either campus location: Salemburg or Edneyville, North Carolina. The location of the position will be based on the proximity of the selected candidate. This position will teach and coordinate Field Training Officer (FTO) classes, FTO Supervisor and FTO Instructor, School Resource Officer (SRO) classes, SRO instructor and related SRO classes for law enforcement and criminal justice personnel, in addition to other Leadership Development, classes for law enforcement managers and other areas of leadership and supervision. Candidates may be required, based on operational needs, to obtain and maintain additional Commission instructor certifications beyond the primary discipline. The Academy supports cross certification to enhance instructional capability and program delivery.
