Full Job Description
Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) Mission. AUTEC is a Major Range and Test Facility Base (MRTFB) and the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport's largest single team project, providing both deep and shallow water test and training environments. **Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.** **Essential Responsibilities:** * Be responsible for performing electrical/mechanical maintenance, inspections, load testing of weight handling equipment (WHE) and material handling equipment (MHE) on the AUTEC Project per NAVFAC P-307, NAVSEA OP-5, NAVSEA Ch-589 requirements. * Maintain control of inspection records, manage the material deficiency reports and ensures all are recorded per NAVFAC, NAVSEA and NAVAIR requirements. * Mechanical and electrical inspections of Cat 1, Cat 3 (non-cab overhead), Cat 4 cranes, various MHE and rigging equipment to NAVFAC P-307 standards. * Conduct mechanical and electrical inspections of Marine Weight Handling Equipment per Chapter 589. * Conduct ordnance rigging gear inspections and certifications per NAVSEA OP-5. * Assist with crane lift operations as needed. * Perform other job-related duties as assigned. **Minimum Requirements:** * Minimum two (2) years actual experience required in the repair of overhead cranes and associated equipment. * Certified Commercial overhead crane mechanic/electrical technician or military equivalent. * Ability to lift up to 50lbs, climb ladders and use manlifts. * Pass drug and alcohol screenings as well as DOT medical examinations. * Must be able to reside in remote location with limited medical facilities. * Valid passport and Driver’s licensed without recent major violations required. * **Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance.
