High school diploma or general education degree (GED), At least three (3) calendar years of verifiable experience as a certified law enforcement officer or its military equivalency, general arrest authority, ability to read, write, speak, and understand English, ability to understand, explain, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, directives, and procedures, valid driver's license from state of residency and a safe driving record for the past five, clearance from the Department of Justice, completed or graduated from certified Federal, state, county, local or military law enforcement training academy and able to provide certification as proof, at least 21 years of, pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check, meet medical standards as specified by the United States Marshal Service (USMS)
