Instructor for Course ARCH 672 / Architectural Design Studio 1. **Calendar Description:** Architecture: Comprehensive design investigation of interrelated architectural-engineering-landscape concepts and systems; development and application of design methods fit for the changing climates and conditions of this century. **CACB SPC:** ARCH 672 is primarily a Comprehensive Design studio (D1). However, it also addresses other Student Performance Criteria, as defined by the CACB (A1, A2, A3, A4, A6, A7, A8, B1, B3, B5, C2, C3, C4, C5). **Topic and themes:** Design a commercial building with a focus on circular economy and life cycle thinking in design. This is a comprehensive design (D1) studio hence, the student must demonstrate an ability to produce an architectural design (A7-A8) based on a concept (A1-A3, B1, B3), a building program (A4), and an urban site (A4, A6) which broadly integrates contextual factors, structural (C3) and environmental systems (B5, C2, C5), building envelopes and assemblies (A7A8, C4), regulatory requirements (A8, C5), and environmental stewardship (B1, C2, C5).
