Elementary School Mathematics 1**.** **Description:** Elementary Education: The first of two courses specially designed for elementary school pre-service teachers. Focused on key areas of what teachers need to know and be able to do to support students' development of mathematical understanding (focus on mathematics content, students' reasoning, and pedagogy). Provides insight and understanding of the Quebec elementary mathematics program. _This course is not Team taught or offered online._ **Term:** Fall 2026 **Credits:** 3 credits **Location:** Education Building (EDUC 436) **Schedule:** Thursday, 02:35 pm-05:25 pm **Teaching Qualification Requirements (TQRs):** Education: 1\. Master’s degree (In exceptional circumstances applicants without a Master's degree but with significant research or professional experience related to the course content may be considered). 2\.
