Philosophical Foundations. **Description:** Ideas essential for the development of a coherent educational theory and sound professional practice. Reflections on: the nature of the person, of reality, of knowledge, and of value; the aims of education, the nature of the school and the curriculum, the roles and responsibilities of professional educators. _This course is not Team taught or offered online._ **Term:** Fall 2026 **Credits:** 3 credits **Location:** Education Building (EDUC 627) **Schedule:** Tuesday & Thursday, 08:35 am-10:25 am **Teaching Qualification Requirements (TQRs):** Education: 1\. Master educator with an MA (i.e., education foundations – philosophy, sociology, and history of education, curriculum studies, educational leadership) and extensive relevant experience as a school educator/pedagogue/community educator. 2\. PhD or equivalent in a relevant field is an asset. Experience: 1\.
