Basic Design. **Description:** Exploration of the basic elements of visual art through two dimensional composition and three-dimensional constructions. Investigation of materials and tools and the processes of manipulating and relating materials. _This course is not Team taught or offered online._ **Term:** Fall 2026 **Credits:** 3 credits **Location:** Education Building (EDUC 604) **Schedule:** Tuesday, 02:35 pm-05:25 pm **Teaching Qualification Requirements (TQRs):** Education: 1\. Master Educator with an MA in a relevant field (e.g. Visual arts education, Design) and/or extensive relevant experience as an arts educator/artist-teacher. 2\. PhD or equivalent in a relevant field is an asset. Experience: 1.Expert Knowledge of: * Teaching students in a studio context how to explore, identify and apply basic visual elements and principles of art and design and to then teach these principles in a classroom context. * The relationship between form and content, and how to teach students to develop the ability to use and understand the techniques and principles of organization and visual communication. 2\. Previous successful experience teaching similar course(s) at the undergraduate or graduate level. 3\. Experience as a master teacher of visual arts and design in the Quebec educational system. 4\.
