It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. Other divisions include Administration, Health Services, Rehabilitation & Reentry, Special Operations and the Post-Release Supervision & Parole Commission. We have a mission that matters! **Description of Work** Reporting to the Correctional Housing Unit Manager II, this position provides supervision for subordinate officers regarding their assigned tasks with male offenders in a Minimum/Medium/Close custody state correctional facility. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: \- Conducting shift line-up, making shift assignments, and inspecting personnel to determine if they are physically and mentally capable of assuming an assigned post \- Supervising and assigning subordinate officers to a particular area or post. \- Completing, reviewing, and maintaining time reports, duty rosters, leave schedules, performance evaluations, and administrative forms. \- Accounting for persons and funds to ensure that all assigned equipment is operationally ready. \- Responsible for subordinate officers' activities relating to the custody and welfare of offenders. \- Working rotating and various duty assignments within the defined level of work. **Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences** **Salary Range: $37,377 - $65,408** **This job posting will close at 11:59 pm, th
