Full Job Description

Built on meritocracy, our unique company culture rewards self-starters and those who are committed to doing what is best for our customers. **_SUMMARY_** * A Core Underwriter will have an assigned agency base and is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, evaluating, quoting, and declining new and renewal business up to a manual premium of $250K. * Will have designated underwriting goals assigned annually - including top line written premium, revenue, new business hit ratio, renewal retention and overall profitability of written book of business. * Foster the growth of our carrier and broker relationships. * Responsible for maintaining a professional relationship with fellow colleagues and piers while supporting the Workers’ Compensation Division as well as all departments that interact with Underwriting. ** _ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES_** Include the following, (other duties may be assigned): * Review, analyze, underwrite, quote, bind & endorse new and renewal business up to a manual premium of $250K * Maintain and manage relations with AGIA producers, through e-mail, telephone or in person meetings * Build and maintain favorable carrier relationships over the phone, e-mail and personal interaction * Responsible for field visits to assigned agency base in order to foster relationships and provide information and education regarding our various programs and appetites * Meet deadlines and goals set forth by management * Maintain a professional relationship with fellow colleages and piers while supporting the Workers’ Compensation Division as well as all departments that interact with Underwriting * Adhere to Arrowhead General Insurance Agency Service Standards * Carrier knowledge – understand and adhere to carrier guidelines including systems & processes * Input data in risk evaluations – updates to previously prepared evals or rush submissions may need all required data entered. Rushes may also require the UW to order Compline, Experian Report, Contractor’s
