Responsible for leadership resulting in implementation of special education process including identification, assessment, development and implementation of IEP’s. Collaborates with community based agencies. Ensures compliance with local, state and federal statutes and regulations. Develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele. ## Position Specific Information (if Applicable): ## Responsibilities: \--- Collaborate with building and district level teams, building and district administration in oversight and facilitation of individual student programs/plans, which may include Special Education, Section 504, Gifted and Talented, Literacy Intervention, Englsh Language Development, etc., at multiple schools/district level. \--- Work collaboratively with all DCSD personnel to offer guidance and support in meeting the needs of all students with Individualized Plans. \--- Develop and maintain effective communications among parents, faculty, stakeholders and administration regarding student needs, programming, and instruction, including mediation and due process procedures. \--- Facilitate and assist human resources activities related to special education staff: hires/directs/mentors/evaluates/disciplines/terminates. \--- Assist the Director(s) of Special Education to gather necessary data with r
