What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Post-secondary degree or Community College with recent related work experience required, At least 1-2 years of related experience supporting learners in any of the following e.g. academic hospital/medical education office, university, or student support services, Experience working with physicians and/or medical learners, leading to a comprehensive understanding of the Canadian medical education system, Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), with the proven ability to foster good working relationships with internal stakeholders and academic partners, organizational and time management skills with a demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities and deadlines, Possess exceptional attention to detail, Advanced computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, Adobe Acrobat) including the ability to learn new applications quickly, Experience with learner management systems (NirvSystem, MedSIS, HSPnet etc.), Team oriented, Demonstrates initiative to work proactively and independently while anticipating and prioritizing work, Ability to follow hospital policies and procedures
What You'll Do.
Supporting medical education activities
Ensuring medical learners have a positive learning experience
Managing learner registration
Coordinating medical education activities for learners and faculty
Facilitating clinical teaching capacity assessments
Organizing hospital-based academic sessions and faculty development events
Providing administrative support in learner registration
Developing and delivering corporate and department-specific orientation
Organizing and communicating learner placement details
and academic sessions
Supporting clinical capacity planning
Tracking and maintaining learner data for reporting
Maintaining a database of trainee demographics for Ministry of Health reporting
Supporting the recruitment and tracking of clinical faculty and preceptors
Creating and maintaining learner call and/or shift schedules
Supporting hospital-based academic sessions
Providing administrative support to the Manager
Attending committee meetings
How You'll Work.
Team & Collaboration
Work closely with Physicians, Preceptors, Learners, and various hospital departments; Collaborate with medical education office leadership; Work with education leads; Communicate with education leads, preceptors, and departments; Collaborate with department education leads; Foster good working relationships with internal stakeholders and academic partners
