What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Grade 12 graduation or equivalent, Chef Training or Culinary Management Diploma or Certificate by a College established under the Ontario College of Applied Arts and Technology Act, Current Food Handlers’ Certification (as per Public Health), Resident and customer service focus, Good communication skills (both oral and written), The ability to work independently as well as part of a team, Commitment to a common purpose, performance goals and approach, Commitment to quality food production and service and on-going quality monitoring and improvement, Computer expertise in corporate standard software (Microsoft Office) and department specific software to data search and entry and to create and modify word processed documents, Awareness of safe work practices as they relate to job responsibilities and work environment, and have the basic understanding of the Occupational Health & Safety Act

What You'll Do.
Prepare and serve nutritious
appealing meals tailored to residents’ dietary needs
Ensure a safe and enjoyable dining experience
Provide direction to dietary staff in the absence of the Supervisor
modified diet preparation
Estimate food needs and requisition supplies
Suggest menu or recipe changes
Check stock and be aware of any shortages
Cook food according to standard recipes and portion servings
Assist in preparing a list of products that need to be ordered
Inspect food including meats in storage
Direct the sanitary maintenance of storage rooms

Participate as a team member in providing Resident centered care and service
Undertake all duties and responsibilities in compliance with Health and Safety standards
guidelines and legislation
Participate in in-service educational opportunities
Maintain an awareness of emergency procedures and participate in drills
Comply with all Corporate and facility policies and procedures
Adhere to infection control policies
routine and additional practices
Orientate new staff and student placements
