Full Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE A1 is building a proactive AI chat app for everyday users to bring intelligence to conversations, errands, organising and workflows. Unlike traditional chat-based applications, our product focuses on achieving high reliability for long-running workflows, persistent context, and real-world task completion. The system must handle multi-step reasoning, interact with external tools, and remain reliable despite non-deterministic model behavior. You will shape how users experience AI from the ground up. This is an early, high-ownership role where your design decisions will directly influence core user flows, interaction models, and product direction. You will design systems and journeys – how users discover value, interact with intelligence, and build trust in an AI-driven product. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING - Design conversational experiences across chat, voice, and AI assistant interactions. - Create natural, intuitive dialogue flows that help users accomplish tasks efficiently. - Develop prompts, assistant behaviors, fallback patterns, and interaction logic for AI systems. - Work closely with product, engineering, and ML teams to shape how the assistant communicates, responds, and guides users. - Prototype and iterate on conversational patterns, onboarding flows, memory/context handling, and multi-step interactions. - Define tone, personality, and response principles across different user scenarios and product surfaces. - Analyze user behavior, conversation failures, and edge cases to improve assistant quality and reliability. - Help establish scalable conversation design standards, libraries, and best practices across A1 products. - Balance user experience, model limitations, latency, and product constraints when designing interactions. WHAT YOU WILL NEED - Experience in conversation design, UX writing, product design, interaction design, or related fields. - Strong understanding of conversational UX for chatbots, voice assistants, or AI-powered products. -
