Must Have
Bachelor's degree in Finance Accounting, 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting, 3 years in a Controller, Assistant Controller, or equivalent leadership role, Hands-on ERP implementation experience, Demonstrated experience managing financial close processes in a multi-location, multi-entity environment, Experience designing and implementing internal controls frameworks, Active CPA required
Nice to Have
MBA or advanced degree in Accounting or Finance, Public accounting experience, Experience in petroleum distribution, fuel wholesale, convenience store retail, or logistics/transportation, Familiarity with Washington and Oregon fuel tax compliance, Exposure to S-Corporation accounting and pass-through tax reporting, NetSuite implementation experience strongly preferred, MBA preferred

Serve as the primary accounting lead for the
Partner with Accounting
Manage the chart of accounts
Manage journal entry templates
Manage subledger configurations
Manage automated intercompany eliminations
Manage financial reporting structures
Manage the ongoing ERP maintenance for the accounting
and enforce a formal internal controls
Manage the external audit relationship
Prepare the annual audit package
Prepare PBC schedules
Prepare S-Corp tax workpaper
Serve as the primary reviewer of the Form
Review and approve all journal entries
Review account reconciliations
Review period-end accruals
Oversee multi-state tax compliance strategy
Oversee filing calendar
Coordinate with the Sr. Accountant/Fuel Tax Specialist and
Support the integration of a tax compliance platform
Ensure automated rate lookups and exception management replace
Lead the configuration of NetSuite's Fixed Asset Management
Lead the configuration of ASC 842 lease accounting
Maintain lender compliance reporting
Champion the implementation of EOS within the accounting
Support the professional development and growth of all
Develop and maintain accounting policy documentation
Provide financial insights and technical accounting guidance
Present complex accounting matters clearly to non-accounting leadership

The Controller serves as the technical accounting authority for the organization, owning the financial close governance process, external audit and tax advisor relationships, and multi-state regulatory compliance framework.
