What we do Darkhorse Analytics is home to two specialized organizations, each turning data into decisions. At Darkhorse Visualization, we turn complex data into tools that change minds. At Darkhorse Emergency, we implement our proprietary software and solve interesting and challenging business problems for a wide variety of fire and emergency clients. At Darkhorse, you will have an outsized impact. You will be trusted, encouraged, and empowered to make a difference. You will do meaningful work as you create a company you can be proud of. What you’ll be doing As Controller, you will lead and execute the day-to-day financial operations across Darkhorse Analytics. This is a hands-on role where you’ll move between operational accounting work, financial analysis, process improvement, and strategic support for company leadership. You will work closely with leadership across both Darkhorse Emergency and Darkhorse Visualization to ensure the company has accurate financial information, strong financial controls, and scalable systems to support growth. Work at Darkhorse is diverse and ever-changing. One day you may be reviewing complex intercompany transactions, improving forecasting models, or navigating cross-border accounting requirements. The next day you may be improving internal processes with AI tools, preparing Board reporting, or supporting strategic decision-making on growth initiatives. You will take ownership of accounting and finance responsibilities from start to finish, including: Leading month end and year end close processes across Canadian and US entities. Preparing financial reporting packages, variance analysis, KPIs, forecasts, and cash flow reporting. Managing full cycle accounting activities including reconciliations, accruals, deferred revenue, foreign exchange adjustments, intercompany transactions, and tax accruals. Supporting budgeting, scenario planning, and financial modeling. Preparing and reviewing annual Canadian and US financial statements and
