Full Job Description

**Overview:** **Job Description Summary:** Examines and analyzes tissue specimens to diagnose and treat diseases. Analyzes and interprets laboratory tests, including biopsies, blood tests, and other specimens, to identify diseases and conditions. **Job Description:** **Essential Functions:** * Completes interpretive consultations (i.e. sign-out’s) for diagnostic immunology or hematopathology tests (both flow cytometry and cellular immunology cases) in a timely manner to ensure that each test meets the assigned TAT. * Responds to questions from lab technical staff assigned to DIL or hematopathology sign-outs. * Troubleshoots, modernizes, or otherwise improves services from the department, particularly within assigned clinical area. Completes small projects and investigations, some of which may result in publications or national conference presentations. * Collaborates to ensure regulatory, state, and federal compliance in the section as well as compliance with other mandatory and voluntary applicable standards. Ensures that services and practices fulfil clinical care requirements. * Performs and analyses quality improvement projects. Represents on hospital and medical staff committees as necessary. * Offers expertise to daily activities including sample analysis, procedure writing, problem resolution, complex workups, information services, outpatient phlebotomy, referral testing, marketing, and customer service. Serves as the primary contact for members of the clinical staff. **Education Requirement:** Graduate of an accredited medical or osteopathic school or international equivalent, M.D. followed by a residency in pathology. **Licensure Requirement:** * Medical License in the State of Ohio, required. * Ability to obtain and maintain an unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Ohio. **Certifications:** * Board certified or Board eligible in Anatomic and/or Clinical Pathology, required. * Board certification/eligibility in Pediatric Pathology (if ap
