What They're Looking For.
Must Have
5–10 years of relevant experience in financial journalism, equity research, real estate investment analysis, real estate equity or debt underwriting, or related roles at a bank, insurance company, private equity firm, real estate broker, asset manager, or financial focused media., Deep expertise in publicly traded REITs or private real estate investing, with command of property-level fundamentals, submarket analysis, and valuation frameworks, including DCF, NAV, cap rates, FFO, and EPRA metrics., Proven track record of producing original, investment-oriented written research that influences decision-making., financial modeling skills and proficiency in Excel and institutional data platforms., Clear, confident communicator with experience presenting complex ideas to senior leadership or external audiences.
Nice to Have
Experience with major estate data providers such as S&P Capital IQ Pro, CoStar, RCA, MSCI/RCA, or Green Street., SQL, python, or other data-focused technical skills., Demonstrated ability and willingness to leverage AI tools in research workflows., Prior exposure to thematic or macro-oriented real estate research.
