Must Have

3+ years construction safety experience, Diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, Proficient in Microsoft Office, Proficient in PDF programs, Proficient in safety management software, Possess administrative skills, Possess computer skills, Experience managing safety programs on commercial, industrial, civil, or infrastructure projects

Nice to Have

Certified Construction Safety Officer (CSO), NCSO, CRSP, or equivalent designation, Valid Occupational First Aid certification, COR Internal Auditor certification, Experience with ISNET and Avetta compliance platforms

What You'll Do.

Develop Health & Safety Management System

Lead corporate Health & Safety Management System

Establish company-wide safety objectives

Establish company-wide safety policies

Establish company-wide safety procedures

Promote a safety-first culture

Advise executive leadership on regulatory changes

Advise executive leadership on compliance risks

Advise executive leadership on safety performance

Lead continuous improvement initiatives

Ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC Occupational Health & Safety

Ensure compliance with BC construction safety standards

Maintain COR certification

Maintain safety audit programs

Liaise with WorkSafeBC officers

Liaise with inspectors

Liaise with regulatory agencies

Ensure projects meet safety documentation standards

Ensure projects meet reporting standards

Maintain inventory of PPE

Provide instruction on PPE use

Provide instruction on PPE maintenance

Assist in preparing project safety documentation

Assist in preparing job hazard assessments

Assist in preparing procedures

Assist in preparing safe work plans

Conduct regular site inspections
