Must Have

15+ years of experience in rail, transit, system, track, signals, traction power, installation, testing, and commissioning., Extensive experience with rail transit systems on tunnel projects., Proficiency in NFPA-130 standards and fire-protection and life-safety requirements for transit systems., Proven ability to manage large-scale projects, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, schedules, and budgets., Capability to function at a program-level technical chief role, providing expertise on track alignment, power distribution, and systems integration.

What You'll Do.

Manage the installation and integration of critical rail and transit systems

and communication networks within the tunnel.

Coordinate with contractors to ensure systems align with technical specifications

and budget constraints.

Support comprehensive testing and commissioning for all installed systems

ensuring they meet operational standards and safety protocols.

Monitor and verify that all aspects of the project adhere to NFPA-130 standards for fire protection and life safety

including emergency ventilation and fire suppression systems.

Act as the primary liaison for safety protocols

coordinating with stakeholders to review safety plans

and prepare contingency measures for emergencies.

Directs the overall planning of construction activities to identify critical milestones and priorities.

Determines budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule.

Ensures that the services of subcontractors and major construction equipment required by the project will be available at the appropriate time to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity.

Establishes assignments for Construction Superintendents for various work areas of construction operations

monitoring progress and recommending corrective action as necessary.

Conducts performance evaluations and recommends promotions and salary actions.

Manages the assignment of manpower

and equipment to maximize efficiency

and to meet budget goals.

Ensures the use of sound construction practices to attain required quality control at the maximum efficiency and minimum cost.

This Program is the most Urgent infrastructure program in the country - a comprehensive set of rail investments that will improve commuter and intercity services, add needed resiliency and, in its later stages, create new capacity between Newark NJ and NYC. **_Program background_** The Gateway Program is the most urgent infrastructure program in the country – a comprehensive set of rail investments that will improve commuter and intercity services, add needed resiliency and, in its later stages, create new capacity between Newark, New Jersey and New York City, the busiest section of the Northeast Corridor (NEC). The first phase of the Gateway Program includes the Hudson Tunnel Project (HTP), which includes the construction of a new two-track tunnel under the Hudson River connecting to Penn Station New York as well as the full rehabilitation of the existing 110-year-old North River Tunnel.
