## Description Field Surveyor Location: Virginia or Maryland Position Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire Compensation: Starting at $30.00/hour; higher pay available depending on experience and technical background Overview We are seeking an experienced Field Surveyor to support structural steel projects across the Mid-Atlantic region. This role is primarily field-based and involves collecting precise survey data, ensuring proper alignment, and supporting steel installation activities. Candidates must be comfortable traveling to job sites and working in active construction environments. ## Core Responsibilities Site Measurement & Layout Collect accurate field measurements and survey data for construction and installation activities Establish project control points, building grid lines, column locations, and anchor bolt layouts Verify elevations, structural placement, and dimensional accuracy throughout project execution Create and maintain as-built documentation reflecting completed work conditions Structural Alignment Support Assist field teams by confirming proper alignment and positioning of structural steel components Support installation activities by verifying plumbness, elevation, and orientation requirements Coordinate with multiple trades to ensure accurate layout and integration of installed components Help identify and resolve field alignment issues before they impact project schedules Technology & Documentation Operate total stations and other precision surveying equipment Utilize software and technology platforms including: Trimble Bluebeam CAD applications Microsoft Office Suite Maintain organized field records, measurements, reports, and project documentation Safety & Collaboration Follow all site-specific safety requirements and company safety procedures Participate in project planning, coordination meetings, and field discussions Work closely with project teams, installation crews, and other construction professionals Maintain professionalism while workin
