Full Job Description
Forsgren, an Apex Company, is seeking a Construction Engineer to support and lead transportation construction projects as part of our Construction Engineering & Inspection (CEI) team. This position can be based in Boise, Rexburg, Burley or Idaho Falls, ID and will play a key role in delivering high-quality infrastructure projects in partnership with state and local agencies. Your Responsibilities as a Construction Engineer: Lead and manage transportation construction projects for ITD and LHTAC. Oversee Construction Inspection staff and provide day-to-day direction and mentorship. Manage project scope, schedule, and budget, including contract administration and documentation. Coordinate with contractors, local highway districts, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. Ensure all construction activities comply with ITD and LHTAC standards and specifications. Review contractor work, quantities, and pay applications for accuracy and compliance. Monitor contractor performance and resolve field issues in collaboration with project teams. Participate in field reviews, project meetings, and stakeholder coordination efforts. Utilize project management and documentation platforms such as AASHTOWare, ProjectWise, and SharePoint. What we're looking for: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (preferred). Professional Engineer (PE) license in Idaho (preferred or ability to obtain). Minimum of 5 years of experience in CE&I, transportation construction, or materials testing. Experience working directly with contractors and field staff. Familiarity with AASHTOWare and ProjectWise preferred. Willingness to travel to project sites, including occasional overnight stays.
