What They're Looking For.
Must Have
3-5 years of experience in 'dry concrete finishing' in the heavy construction industry, grinding and chipping concrete, patching and repairing cone holes, sack rubbing walls, Knowledge of grout mixes/mixing for colour match, fit tested with a respiratory-mask, Concrete pouring & wet finishing experience, Knowledge of safe operation of tools and equipment, workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures, Strong communication and positive teamwork skills, Valid WHMIS certificate, Valid Elevated/Aerial Work Platform certificate, Valid Working at Heights certificate
Nice to Have
Experience on 7 meter high walls is an asset
What You'll Do.
cutting & coring concrete
stain removal and cleaning
high tolerance finishing
layout and execute forms
Dry concrete finishing: concrete chipping and patching
grinding concrete and sack rubbing walls to receive paint
Apply grout mixing/mixes
Observe and comply with all health and safety regulations
ensures any apprentices under your direction comply
Operate and maintain tools and equipment
Receive and follow directions
Contribute and participate in the effective use of the Quality Control System
Construct and/or assemble and dismantle scaffolding
Handle and transport job materials to the work area
Perform other related duties
including minor duties of other trades where certification is not required and the work does not exceed own limitations
