What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical and/or Aerospace Engineering with 2+ years of experience in Mechanical and/or Aerospace Engineering OR Master’s degree in Mechanical and/or Aerospace Engineering OR JD/PHD in Engineering, US Citizen
Nice to Have
Experience with turbine component design methods and practices to include component integrity, Structural Analysis, Thermals and Lifing spreadsheets., Experience with coatings and their application within turbine and hot section systems., Broader experience with rotating and static component design in highly stressed or critical assemblies., Experience working with Siemens NX, Teamcenter and/or ANSYS Workbench., Experience with the definition release process and GD&T., Experience with computer programming and design optimization., Experience working with manufacturing and/or quality, especially with regards to the assessment of non-conforming hardware.
What You'll Do.
Create component design definition in accordance with module
and customer interface requirements.
Create dimensional tolerance stacks
establish Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) requirements
and support manufacturing to produce conforming hardware.
Support the supply chain in procuring hardware including review of supplier documentation
assessment of non-conforming hardware
and review of supplier change proposals.
Review and approve component requirements for their responsible sub-system’s hardware.
and execute validation plans to demonstrate compliance to the requirements.
Support manufacturing
and aftermarket issues promptly as they arise to keep production on target and the fleet in operation.
Perform a leadership role in investigations of in-service and/or development hardware issues including Engine Investigations
root cause / corrective action (RCCA)
Technical Variance consultation
How You'll Work.
Team & Collaboration
Present and defend design solutions and technical work to program leadership and other stakeholders.; Share findings with the global turbomachinery team in accordance with export control regulations.
