What They're Looking For.

Must Have

Experience as a grid compliance engineer, Experience working with transmission and distribution grid companies, Proven track record in successfully managing grid compliance processes, An engineering background in electrical or power systems, An understanding of risk, health, safety and environmental requirements, A full UK driving licence

What You'll Do.

Managing compliance-related interfaces with the National Energy System Operator (NESO)

Transmission Owner (TO)

and Distribution Network Operator (DNO) for multiple projects throughout the project lifecycle

Supporting grid engineers in assessing transmission and distribution connection offers to ensure conformance

Managing the grid code compliance process

including Balancing Mechanism Unit (BMU) and metering registration for various projects across different technologies

Conducting power system studies and reviews

identifying and resolving any issues to ensure programme milestones are maintained

Acting as the compliance Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the project team on allocated projects to ensure queries and compliance timelines are appropriately integrated into the programme to achieve project milestones

Ensuring ongoing compliance for operational assets to meet code obligations

Providing regular reports for the allocated projects and escalating issues where required

Maintaining a good level of expertise in compliance requirements for both transmission and distribution connections

Attending industry forums

and meetings as necessary to stay updated on the grid code compliance process and current issues while building and maintaining relationships with key industry stakeholders

Embedding lessons learnt

engineering excellence and operational experience into engineering activities

How You'll Work.

Team & Collaboration

Collaborate with colleagues in development, engineering, construction, and operations; Engage with external partners, industry bodies, and technical organisations; Act as the compliance Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the project team; Building and maintaining relationships with key industry stakeholders

Providing regular reports; Escalating issues
