Community Assistant Manager - Village Apartments San Diego, CA Who we are: At Sunrise, we practice resident hospitality, focusing on what matters most: Helping people feel right at home. About this role: The Assistant Manager supports the Community Manager in all aspects of operating an income-producing property, including administrative, leasing, financial, and maintenance functions. This position is designed as a training role to prepare the Assistant Manager for future opportunities as a Community Manager. The Assistant Manager represents the management company’s policies and serves as a role model to peers, ensuring compliance with California landlord-tenant laws and company standards. Hourly pay range: $24.00 - $25.00 DOE What you’ll do - Includes but are not limited to: Leadership Provide support and guidance to the on-site team, addressing operational challenges effectively. Assume management responsibilities in the absence of the Community Manager. Ensure compliance with Fair Housing and other applicable regulations. Administrative Work closely with the Community Manager to learn property management operations, including administrative and financial duties. Assist in developing a cohesive on-site team that reflects the organization’s professionalism and quality. Conduct regular inspections of common areas, apartment units, and grounds to ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance with California building and health codes. Assist with move-in and move-out administration, including thorough apartment inspections. Understand and support financial and operational reporting requirements. Financial Collect rent payments and ensure timely deposits for all income, adhering to California laws regarding rent collection and notices. Serve non-payment notices and follow up on delinquent accounts, coordinating eviction proceedings if necessary, under the guidance of the
