Overall Project Background The Dutch government, through the Directorate General for International Cooperation (DGIS), is supporting efforts to improve food security and sustainable soil fertility management as part of its sustainable development agenda. In this context, a consortium composed of IFDC, SNV, and Wageningen University (WUR) received funding to implement the Soil Values Program (2024–2033). The program aims to sustainably manage soil fertility and health to increase agricultural productivity while strengthening the resilience of smallholder farmers in the Sahel, including women, men, youth, and other underserved groups, in the face of climate change. Soil Values focuses on three main axes of change: * Agroecology * Inclusive market development (markets and finance) * Enabling environment (institutions and policies) The consortium collaborates with several international research institutions, including IITA, CIFO
