## Accountabilities Develop and implement underwriting strategies that support profitable growth while maintaining strong risk-adjusted returns across commercial catastrophe-focused portfolios. Establish, refine, and oversee underwriting guidelines, pricing frameworks, and risk selection standards to ensure consistency, compliance, and sound decision-making. Monitor portfolio performance, underwriting metrics, loss trends, and exposure concentrations to identify opportunities for optimization and improved profitability. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of commercial underwriters, fostering technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous professional growth. Conduct quality assurance reviews and underwriting audits to evaluate accuracy, compliance, and adherence to established guidelines. Partner with leadership, actuarial, product, and data teams to enhance underwriting processes and support innovation initiatives. Leverage data analytics, predictive insights, and underwriting technologies to improve risk evaluation and operational efficiency. Present portfolio analyses, performance findings, and strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders and leadership teams. Requirements Minimum 7 years of commercial insurance underwriting experience, with strong expertise across commercial lines of business. At least 5 years of experience evaluating and managing coastal catastrophe risks or catastrophe-exposed commercial portfolios. Minimum 2 years of leadership experience managing, coaching, and developing underwriting teams. Previous experience working within a Managing General Agent (MGA), insurance carrier, or similar underwriting organization. Strong knowledge of underwriting principles, risk assessment methodologies, pricing strategies, and portfolio management practices.
