This position is on-site at our main offices in downtown Austin at 101 E. 15th Street in the RID Tax Collections Unit. TWC is not considering applications from individuals who require sponsorship for an employment visa, including those currently on student or postgraduate visas. You must be a Texas resident to work for the Texas Workforce Commission or willing to relocate to Texas. WHO YOU ARE: A detail-oriented professional with accounting and or collections experience who is comfortable dealing with employers, accountants, and attorneys in discussing sensitive debt issues. You are confident and are good at reviewing data to verify its accuracy, ensuring that it is compliant with rules and regulations, and you can provide guidance to your customers on the rules and regulations you enforce. Flexibility is a plus as work assignments may change from day to day, depending on items received from upstream departments. Working with a team and accepting responsibility for how your work affects others is essential in this team environment. WHAT YOU WILL DO: Collections Assessments Desk Accounts Examiner III-IV performs moderately complex to highly complex (senior-level) accounts examination work. Accounts Examiner III duties involve examining and auditing operating reports and financial accounting records; and collecting fees, taxes, or penalties. Works under general supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
