Must Have

Associates degree required, Successful completion of an approved coding program or recent graduate of a health information management (HIM) program, At least 1 year coding, abstracting and discharge analysis experience in a hospital Health Information Management (HIM) department, Certified or eligible for certification through the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) as one of the following: Registered Health Information Management Technician (RHIT) Registered Health Information Management Administrator (RHIA) Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)

What You'll Do.

Identify and provide appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes

Monitor CMS website for changes to IRF PPS

Work with physicians to review documentation

Participate in quarterly audits

Query and review medical records

Maintain partnership with PPS coordinator

Partner with AHC HIM coder to verify ICD codes

How You'll Work.

Team & Collaboration

Be involved with the clinical team on a regular basis; Work with physicians to review documentation; Maintain a partnership and communication with the Prospective Payment System (PPS) coordinator; Partner with the AHC HIM coder
