What You'll Do.
Inspect chicks in hatchers
Ascertain quality and fitness for processing
Pull chicks and place
Dispose of substandard chicks
Operate high pressure washer to clean trays
Operate high pressure hose to sanitize trays
Pad approximately 1500 empty chick boxes
Lift box of 100 chicks
Put into stacks of 10
Push 10 stacked boxes with birds into a
Push/pull hatcher baskets full of chicks
Take hatcher baskets off stacks
Put empty trays into tray wash machine
empty trays out of tray washer
Restack into stacks of 15 high
Record temperatures and turn-failures in setters
Read temperature and humidity in incubators
Wash and foam rooms using a high pressure
Pull loaded setter buggies on casters
Maintain boot washes and hand sanitizer
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Euthanize weak/ill chicks
Complete daily checklists

Work schedule is subject to change based upon production needs. **Position Summary:** * This position is responsible for the inspection of chicks in hatchers to ascertain quality and fitness for processing. Pull chicks and place for processing; properly dispose of substandard chicks in accordance with the company’s Animal Welfare policy; operate high pressure washer to clean trays, dollies, hatchery and operate a high pressure hose to sanitize trays, dollies, hatchery and equipment.
