Full Job Description

Gloucester, Virginia 12 hour shifts and working every other weekend. Night shift is 7p - 7:30a ***Please note you must meet one of the following criteria to be eligible: hold a CNA / hold an EMT-B license / completed an MA program / Currently enrolled in a Nursing Program with at least 80 + hours of clinical completed. ** **Overview** Works under the supervision of Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager/Director in personal care of the patients and their environment (including those needing special precautions) and performs specified functions in tasks where there is validated competency including: simple wound care (i.e. cleaning of abrasions/laceration), EKGs, peripheral INT removal, basic phlebotomy, and extremity splinting. In addition, this position must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served in assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and provide the care needed as described according to the departmental policy and procedure. Promotes and maintains safe work environment for staff as well as our customers, incorporating national patient safety initiatives. **What you will do** * Demonstrates understanding and knowledge of the technology systems necessary for patient data collection into EMR. * Demonstrates the ability to follow plan of care to include performing treatments and procedures competently/independently under direction of RN. This may include the following procedures dependent upon unit/facility competency requirements vital signs, ice application, compresses, EKGs, drawing blood, specimen collection, etc. * Accurately completes all required clinical and quality documentation consistently per RHS standards and regulatory requirements. * Demonstrates accountability for ensuring availability of resources (equipment, instruments, supplies) necessary to ensure positive patient outcomes.
