High School Diploma or Equivalent, Medical Assistant or similar 3-5 years, HEARTSAVER - American Heart Association, NCCT Medical Assistant - National Center for Competency Testing
Nice to Have
Technical Degree or Diploma Medical Assistant, AMT Registered Medical Assistant, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, Nationally Certified Medical Assistant, AAMA Certified Medical Assistant, BASIC LIFE SUPPORT - American Heart Association
What You'll Do.
Assist patients throughout the visit
Accompany patients to exam/procedure room
Respond to patient needs
Schedule appointments
Schedule Diagnostic Imaging exams
Perform lab call backs
Complete prior authorizations
Retrieve medical histories
Fill out patient paperwork and forms
Answer and return phone calls
Collect and record patient data
Record pertinent patient information
Record surgical history
Record past medical history
Record social history
Record medical management
Assist with physical examination preparations
Remove sutures/staples
Change sterile and non-sterile dressings
Collect and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis
Assist with undressing
cleansing and positioning patients
Perform venipuncture for withdrawing blood
Administer medication and immunizations
Authorize prescription refills
Provide prescription information to pharmacies
Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation
Prepare and clean exam/procedure rooms
Clean instruments and equipment
Maintain infection control
Sterilize instruments
Dispose of contaminated supplies
Order and maintain stock of supplies
Provide patient education and instructions
Perform other duties as assigned

Responds to patient needs in a professional and friendly manner. * Performs clerical activities related to patient care such as scheduling appointments and Diagnostic Imaging exams, lab call backs, prior authorizations, retrieving medical histories, filling out patient paperwork and forms and answering and returning phone calls. * Collects and records patient data including height, weight, temperature, pulse, respiration rate and blood pressure, and basic information about the presenting and previous conditions.
