What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure engineering, or platform engineering in a mid-to-large enterprise environment. Proven experience designing and implementing Infrastructure as Code solutions at scale (preferably Terraform). Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent practical experience). Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services and architecture. Experience building and managing automated deployment pipelines (CI/CD) for infrastructure and/or applications.
Nice to Have
Deep expertise in Azure services including compute, networking, storage, identity (Azure AD), and security services. Experience with modern cloud engineering practices, including GitOps, immutable infrastructure, and environment standardization. Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell, Python, or similar languages. Experience with cloud governance frameworks, security controls, and compliance requirements, ideally within healthcare or regulated environments. Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights). Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, AKS) is a plus. Understanding of networking concepts, identity and access management, and security architecture in cloud environments. Demonstrated ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment, driving continuous improvement and adopting new technologies.

PURPOSE The Information Technology organization is moving to a modern, cloud-first, automation-driven model. This Cloud Engineering role advances Infrastructure as Code (IaC), platform standardization, and scalable Azure architecture across the enterprise. This position designs, builds, and improves secure, reliable, repeatable cloud platforms and services. It emphasizes automation, engineering discipline, and reusable patterns to reduce operational overhead and speed consistent infrastructure delivery. The role will help shift the team from traditional cloud operations to a Cloud/Platform Engineering model, primarily focused on Microsoft Azure, while supporting a multi-cloud model. DUTIES * Design, develop, and maintain cloud infrastructure using an Infrastructure as Code (IaC) first approach, with Terraform as the strategic provisioning tool. * Build and manage modular, reusable Terraform codebases aligned to enterprise standards, enabling scalable and repeatable deployments. * Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployment, ensuring automated testing, validation, and promotion across environments. * Define and implement cloud architecture standards, reference patterns, and guardrails to ensure consistency, scalability, and governance. * Implement and manage Azure services including compute, storage, networking, identity, and data services using automated provisioning frameworks. * Partner with application, security, and data teams to enable secure-by-default and compliant cloud solutions aligned to healthcare r
