The unit serves patients with a range of complex medical conditions, including pulmonary, cardiac, and neurological disorders, as well as post-operative surgical patients who require an elevated level of nursing care. CCSU also provides care for ventilated patients with tracheostomies. All staff members complete hospital and nursing orientation, followed by comprehensive unit-specific training. Core and unit competencies are established during this onboarding process.
