What They're Looking For.

Must Have

High school diploma/GED required, BLS Certification within last two years or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment required, An active CDT certification is required, 1-3 years of Medical Assistant/Nurse experience required, Dermatology experience required, Demonstrated knowledge and skills of exemplary patient care required, experience with minor surgical procedures required, Demonstrated excellence in communication skills, both oral and written, necessary for patient communication needs and for charting and documentation, Demonstrated ability in handling patient confidentiality, Demonstrated excellence in time management and problem-solving skills, Has shown demonstrated excellence with the following skills important for a lead position: positive attitude, flexibility, patience, honesty and professionalism, Operates in all areas of responsibility with business ethics and integrity, Embraces, lives out, and promotes Optima Dermatology mission statement and values

Nice to Have

Higher education preferred, Certified or Registered MA, preferred, Experience utilizing Modernizing Medicine / EMA Electronic Medical Record (EMR) highly preferred, Additional surgical experience highly preferred (MOHS)

What You'll Do.

Perform patient intake

Acts as a medical scribe for the provider

Assists physicians and other providers with patient procedures

Prepares specimens to be analyzed by an outside lab

Will also complete lab duties as applicable for patient care and/or compliance

Prepares exam rooms for patient use

Performs administrative duties as needed to support patient care

Works independently to obtain results and records from outside sources

Assists in maintaining inventory

unpacking and storage of supplies and medications

Performs all duties respectful of confidentiality and safety of all patients

Communicates with the physician and Practice manager on all issues that are vital to the improvement and continued success of the practice

Follow all HIPAA guidelines and comply with all annual training and competency requirements

Understands and operates within the associated scope of practice as outlined by company and state applicable guidelines

Maintains compliance with attendance requirements and policies outlined in the Employee Handbook

Assist with daily office cleaning/maintenance as needed
