Eligibility Requirements

Rotating weekend shifts, Holiday rotation, Support any STAT Lab locations, Endurance (e.g. continuous typing, prolonged standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling), Sitting, standing, and/or walking for periods of up to eight hours, Dexterity of hands and fingers, Physical strength to lift heavy objects, carts, or items, Lifting and carrying objects: 1 to 10 pounds, Physical mobility, Balance maintained during climbing, bending and/or reaching, Physical agility, Ability to handle physical requirements, Exposure to chemicals, sharps, latex, chemotherapy and fumes, Exposure to loud noises, Exposure to vibration, Exposure to extreme temperatures, Exposure to confined spaces, Exposure to allergens: dust, mold and/or pollen, Exposure to magnetic fields, Exposure to radiation, Exposure to combative patients/visitors, Exposure to infectious hazards, blood, body fluids, Contact with patients or patient specimens, Unplanned or unexpected exposure

What They're Looking For.

Must Have

Associates degree, Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, Ability to perform diversified duties within specified time limitations, Ability to organize, problem solve, set priorities, and use critical thinking skills, customer service skills, Ability to be a team player, Basic medical laboratory skills

Nice to Have

Associates or Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, ASCP or equivalent certification, 2-4 years preferred experience, Knowledge of QA principles, Experience with Standard Office Equipment (Phone, Fax, Copy Machine, Scanner, Email/Voice Mail), Experience with Standard Office Technology in a Window based environment, Experience with Medical Laboratory Instruments, Experience with Laboratory Computer Information System

What You'll Do.

Demonstrate and document competencies annually

Process and evaluate patient specimens

Perform daily temperature and humidity checks

Perform routine instrument maintenance

Correct basic instrument malfunctions

Perform instrument QC and calibrations

Process monthly QC documents

Perform and approve specimen testing

Perform Stat and routine orders

Communicate and document critical values

Monitor inventory levels

Ensure clean and orderly workstation

Adapt work schedule to meet staffing needs

Perform staff training

Perform and assist with validations

Perform and read blood smears

Perform special coagulation test

Rotate within core lab
