Must Have

J.D. earned at least 5 years ago, 5+ years criminal law experience, 5+ years trial practice experience, Active license to practice in Massachusetts

What You'll Do.

Develop training materials

Lead training sessions

Introduce clerk-magistrate hearings

Introduce CORI sealings

Conduct mock hearings

Train on cross-examination

Review current case law

Train on mental health

Train on collateral consequences

Meet with student volunteers

Discuss case developments

Prepare students for hearings

Provide mentorship to students

Provide feedback on written work

Debrief students after hearings

Supervise Program Manager

Oversee Defenders operations

Manage Defenders finances

Manage Defenders budget

Ensure policy compliance

Provide training to Board members

Provide support to Board members

Mentor Student Board members

Collaborate on running organization

Build relationships with organizations

Maintain relationships with organizations

Be knowledgeable on Massachusetts criminal law

Be knowledgeable on court procedures
