Full Job Description

This position will be supporting Respiratory Therapy and ICU Nursing. ## Job Summary The Clinical Informatics Specialist leads teams and supports clinicians in the design, development, implementation and optimization of healthcare technologies (including but not limited to the EHR) in both the inpatient and ambulatory environments. The Clinical Informatics Specialist understands future workflow and business process changes impacting the nursing, physician, and ancillary clinical teams to ensure the success of the implementation and ongoing system maintenance. This role will work with staff to optimize the usage of clinical systems through education, quality outcomes and providing support in accordance with organizational goals. The Clinical Informatics Specialist leads teams and is skilled in developing consensus and driving and supporting change. Additionally, the Clinical Informatics Specialist strives to understand clinical and departmental operational processes and incorporates this knowledge to execute best practices in both the clinical and information technology disciplines. ## Essential Functions * Collaborates closely with and communicates between DS leadership and the clinical/operational community to provide leadership for clinical system projects and system wide initiatives. Assists in the development of policies and procedures for the usage of clinical information systems. Leads the integration between clinical areas and DS regarding development and translation of business needs for service lines. Manages workflow identification and business process changes to ensure the success and optimization of new or modified clinical information systems. * Ensures that new or modified clinical systems maintain patient confidentiality and privacy. Supports clinical users through education and instruction on features and usage of software. Provides documentation support to capture process changes, new workflow, and comprehensive requirements.
