What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Current registration with the Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA), Personal Support Worker Certification obtained from either an Ontario College of Applied Arts and Technology program or an Accredited PSW Educational Program
Nice to Have
At least one year of full-time equivalent work experience within the past three years, Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certificate
What You'll Do.
Fulfills assigned responsibilities related to patients' daily routines and fundamental care requirements
Executes individualized care plans
Reports patient condition changes to the Registered Nurse promptly and objectively
Assists with psychosocial patient needs
Responds to call bells
Supports healthcare team
Provides coverage during breaks
Contributes to a safe environment
Documents care and changes in patient condition following hospital policy
Operates equipment like lifts and wheelchairs
Maintains a safe environment by adhering to safety standards
Identifies and prevents safety issues
Attends safety meetings
Uses personal protective equipment

Integral member of the healthcare team; Working within the framework of hospital guidelines, protocols, and the unit's care delivery approach; Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse; Supports healthcare team; Working collaboratively as a team member within an interprofessional environment
