Full Job Description
# **About the team** The Claims SIU Specialist is responsible for investigating claims involving suspected fraud, material misrepresentation, policy violations, and other Special Investigations Unit (SIU) concerns. This role supports Turo's fraud prevention strategy by reviewing high-risk claims identified through risk models and referrals, conducting investigations, and making recommendations that help mitigate financial exposure and protect company assets. # **What you will do** * Conduct investigations involving suspected fraud, material misrepresentation, policy violations, and other SIU-related concerns, including gathering evidence, conducting interviews, analyzing claim documentation, and determining appropriate investigative outcomes. * Review and investigate claims identified through automated risk models, internal referrals, vendor referrals, NICB alerts, law enforcement requests, and other investigative sources to identify fraud indicators and potential loss prevention opportunities. * Prepare investigative summaries, document findings, maintain accurate case files, and provide recommendations regarding claim handling, escalation, denial, recovery opportunities, or further investigative actions. * Partner with Claims, Trust & Safety, Legal, external vendors, law enforcement, and industry partners to support investigations, identify fraud trends, and mitigate financial risk to Turo. * Participate in special projects, process improvement initiatives, fraud prevention strategies, risk model feedback loops, training, team meetings, and operational planning activities. # **Your profile** * Minimum 2 years of experience in claims handling, fraud investigations, SIU investigations, insurance investigations, Trust & Safety investigations, or a related field. * Strong investigative mindset with the ability to analyze evidence, identify inconsistencies, and draw logical conclusions. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. * Ability to exercise sound judgmen
