What They're Looking For.
Must Have
2 years or more of relevant experience with civil and road/highway design projects, PC literacy, working knowledge of MicroStation
Nice to Have
2-year technical degree or certificate of completion from an accredited designer/drafter course (or equivalent), Working knowledge of Bentley ProjectWise, Knowledge of Georgia DOT Plan Presentation Guidelines and Electronic Data Guidelines
What You'll Do.
perform basic to moderately-difficult design/drafting assignments
prepare engineering drawings consisting of basic arrangements
ensure drawings comply with GDOT EDG and PPG and other drafting standards
compile data and perform dimensional and routine calculations required for the preparation of drawings
understand how to read orthographic (2D) and/or isometric (3D) designs and construction drawings for road
highway and bridge projects
develops roadway and highway design plans
including horizontal/vertical alignments
drainage and pavement marking
assist in preparing design submittals to clients like GDOT
