Full Job Description
The Scientist job family is responsible for 1) performing basic scientific analyses and calculations and 2) preparing specifications, reports and data tables 3) maintaining and troubleshooting instrumentation and methods. Under supervision, Scientists maintain project coordination with all other disciplines on an assigned project based on the following classification, grade, and level specific responsibilities: Under direction of the Analytical Manager or Chemistry Supervisor, may perform technical assignments of various complexities within approved scientific schedules and budgets. May coordinate technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and other departments participating on an assigned project. May assist in the training and evaluation of assigned scientific personnel. May supervise a discipline group. **This position shall be performed under the day-to-day direction, control, and supervision of WTCC** ** _REQUIREMENTS/SPECIFICATIONS_** **Education:** Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry or related scientific or engineering discipline from a four (4) year accredited college or university. Appropriate training and experience commensurate with the responsibilities of the position may be considered in lieu of a degree. **Experience:** 10+ years of experience in one or more areas of expertise including wet chemistry, elemental chemistry, separations chemistry or radiochemistry obtained through a combination of education and working in an environmental, research, process control, or radiological laboratory. Desired experience includes developing analytical methods for use in radiological fume hoods, working knowledge of process control techniques, supporting continuous process operations, and familiarity with regulatory requirements as applied to laboratory operations. Candidate must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship. Flexibility to work overtime or off normal hours in response to urgent project requests
