What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Master’s degree in related field such as Religious, Divinity, or Theology, 3 units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) completed, 1 year of experience as a Chaplain in a healthcare setting, Ecclesial endorsement from church body to be involved in hospital ministry
Nice to Have
Doctoral degree in Theology or Philosophy, Completion of lay ministry or the ordination process
What You'll Do.
Provide spiritual care and emotional support
Recognizes the sacramental needs of the Catholic population
Provide for religious and ritual needs
Minister to a diverse population
Provide basic emotional and spiritual support
Provide effective pastoral skills
Provide a specialized perspective at clinical care conferences
Provide consultation for cases
Demonstrate proficiency in conducting spiritual care assessment
Provide appropriate spiritual interventions
Coordinate delivery of pastoral care resources
Provide Advanced Care Planning consultations
Elicits care preferences
Professionally communicates clinically relevant information
Adheres to the policies of the Bon Secours Mercy Health
Lead and coordinate prayer and worship services
Teach an understanding of diverse theology
