Complete twenty (20) hours of training specific to the required components of the specific service definition including crisis response within the first 90 days of employment, Complete criminal background check, Name checked in registries, Drug testing, Education verification, Credentialing based on position requirements, Proof of employment history or references, Proof of driver's license, Proof of driver's insurance, Proof of vehicle
What They're Looking For.
Must Have
High School Diploma or GED, 1 year of experience working with persons with the population supported, Certified as a Peer Support Specialist, Valid drivers license, Automotive insurance, Ability to pass background check, Ability to pass drug screen
Nice to Have
CPR certification a plus, First aid certification a plus, NCI certification a plus, Role related certification a plus
What You'll Do.
Provide essential expertise and consultation to the interdisciplinary
Promote a culture in which each individual’s point
Serve as an advocate for clients
Meet with clients to provide advice and support
Assist in peer support groups with assigned consumers
Support/assist consumers in daily decision making
Assist consumers in resolution of minor problems
Assist clients by finding resources
Advise consumer of processes
Encourage follow through with proposed resolutions
Locate social activities
Provide other assistance as needed
Accompany clients to meetings
Participate in meetings of community groups to advocate
Lead recovery dialogues/self-help sessions with clients
Foster client’s development of healthy relationships
Encourage participation in community activities
Observe behavior and evidence of general well-being
Discuss observations with the clients
Model effective coping and self-help techniques
Provide advice to clients on empowerment skills
Provide advice to clients on successful community living
Inform clients on community resources
Inform clients on how to use community resources
Provide information to consumers and families on specific
