The ideal candidate will be a strategic and tactical leader in FAA product certification, partnering closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to navigate the complex certification process. The successful candidate will bring not only certification expertise but also a commitment to our people-centric culture, where each team member contributes to meaningful innovation that positively impacts the environment. How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation: Lead certification processes with the FAA from application, certification basis development, through compliance planning and certification testing while contributing as a team member to plan, build, and manage the certification artifacts and timelines. Interface with the FAA to develop regulatory framework including special conditions, equivalent safety findings, means and methods of compliance for new and novel design features, particularly for electric propulsion systems and eVTOLs. Develop certification strategies aligned with the company goals for new Type Certificates and Amended Type Certificates. Manage in-house and consultant FAA designees, develop and implement criteria for proposing delegation of certification activities and FAA conformity inspections. Lead development of conformity inspection plans, coordinate requests for conformity with the FAA, and implementation of conformity inspection processes internal to BETA. Develop and implement necessary policies, standards and procedures to become an FAA Organization Designation Authorization (ODA).
