**Overview:** **Job Description Summary:** Oversees sterile processing staff performing the processing, sterilization, and distribution of instruments and supplies, ensuring efficient and safe patient care. **Job Description:** **Essential Functions:** * Provides supervision for sterile processing staff and oversees the daily activities and scheduling of the team. * Ensures adherence to safety standards and quality metrics for processing and providing sterilized instruments needed for patient care. Monitors compliance with sterilization policies and procedures and record keeping. * Coordinates training and evaluation of instrument technicians. Serves as a resource and model, assisting as needed. * Maintains Sterile Processing Microsystem (SPM) Instrument Tracking System files and reports and collaborates with healthcare professionals to ensure that sterile instruments and equipment are available when needed. * Coordinates the repair of critical patient care items and instrumentation. * Maintains assigned work areas and equipment in a clean, organized, and safe environment. **Education Requirement:** * High School Diploma or equivalent, required. * Bachelor's Degree in relevant field, preferred. **Licensure Requirement:** (not specified) **Certifications:** Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST), preferred. **Skills:** Working knowledge of the standards of infection control. **Experience:** * Three years of instrument or case cart processing experience or operating room experience, preferred. * Two years of supervisory or leadership experience, preferred. * Experience as a sterile processing technician, preferred. **Physical Requirements:** OCCASIONALLY: Audible speech, Biohazard waste, Blood and/or Bodily Fluids, Chemicals/Medications, Color vision, Communicable Diseases and/or Pathogens, Computer skills, Depth perception, Interpreting Data, Loud Noises, Problem solving, Reaching above shoulder, Sitting, Squat/kneel FREQUENTLY: Bend/twist, Flexing/e
