The Network Engineer performs CDS-related network related duties at the enclave level (AFSCI, AO SIPRNet, SIPRNet, ACBN and Private ISP) at assigned locations IAWNCDSMO-R-00008-005_01, Department of War (DoW) and National Cross Domain Strategy &Management Office (NCDSMO) "Raise-the-Bar" (RTB) Standards, Version 5.1, dated 9 February 2026. The Network Engineer establishes, maintains and documents the appropriate CDS operational security postures for assigned enclaves. Designs, plans, and builds data center communications networks. Configures routers and switches, and firewalls for LAN and WAN systems and VPN concentrators with appropriate network engineering and communications protocols. Coordinates LAN/WAN hardware/software improvements and/or enhancements. Monitors the network utilizing industry leading technologies. The Network Engineer provides innovative methods and technical solutions using the engineering design process. Plans implementation of enhancements. The Network Engineer performs CDS Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) administrator duties. Possess and maintain DoWD 8570 IAT Level II/DoDD 8140 Certification.
