Full Job Description

OVERVIEW Starting wage is based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position being offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. The Delivery Truck Driver is responsible for the safe operation of the company’s truck with a typical weight capacity of 30-55,000 pounds (GVW). This role is responsible for all functions related to the vehicle, including the pre-trip report (DVIR), ensuring the truck is loaded properly, the material is secured to the truck, delivery of materials to the customer location, and processing of all customer delivery paperwork. JOB DESCRIPTION Responsibilities: Safely operate a heavy-load truck. Ensure all material is properly secured at the beginning of the shift and continuously monitor after each delivery. Ensure that all customer supporting paperwork is completed and returned at the end of each shift. Collect, document, and properly secure money received to ensure alignment with customer paperwork. Report any issues or incidents related to material damage or customer matters to dispatch. Perform the daily truck inspection, pre- and post-trip (DVIR). Seek advice and guidance on non-routine or problem areas from supervisor. Perform and document inspections to ensure truck and equipment are kept in good condition. Basic Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum of 2 years of truck driving experience with a proven track record of safe driving. Possession of a CDL (type A or B) Commercial driver’s license. Proficient in driving manual transmission trucks. Capability to operate a gate lift. Proficiency in operating an electric pallet jack. Experience in handling commercial and residential deliveries. Ability to service all region’s distribution centers. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
