We are currently seeking an experienced CDI Auditor to join our team for a full-time remote position. The CDI Auditor is responsible for reviewing clinical documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory guidelines and coding standards. This role evaluates the effectiveness of CDI programs, identifies documentation gaps, and provides feedback and education to improve documentation quality, coding accuracy, and reimbursement integrity. Responsibilities Perform high-level, secondary case reviews to ensure accurate and comprehensive provider documentation. Perform CDI audits Assess documentation alignment with ICD-10-CM/PCS, MS-DRG/APR-DRG, and payer guidelines Identify missed or inappropriate diagnoses, procedures, CCs/MCCs, and severity of illness (SOI) / risk of mortality (ROM) opportunities Analyze audit findings and prepare detailed reports with trends, risks, and improvement opportunities Provide feedback and education to CDI specialists, coders, and clinical staff Qualifications The ideal candidate will have a clinical background with a thorough knowledge of official medical coding guidelines, CMS, and private payer regulations related to the Inpatient Prospective Payment System and experience performing CDI Audits and second level reviews. Additional qualifications include: CCDS or CDIP certification required RN preferred but not required A minimum of 3 years’ CDI experience The ability to communicate with physicians and hospital staff in a collaborative manner to promote appropriate clinical documentation and quality improvement is a must UASI provides employees with the tools needed for professional growth and development.
