Industry & Context.
Lead yellow alert investigations
Rotational position (2 weeks on & 2 weeks off), 10 hours per day, Unionized position, Furnished housing will be provided, Prepare own meals during shift, Flights to Whitehorse provided, Travel between Whitehorse and Faro provided, Daily transportation to and from Mine Site provided, Ability to lift up to 20 lbs, Ability to comfortably work outdoors in various weather conditions, Valid class 5 driver’s license
What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Post-secondary education (degree or technologist diploma) in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Earth Sciences, Biology, Geotechnical Engineering, Forestry, Hydrogeology, or related fields, Remote mine site field work experience, Effective communication skill, Proficient computer skills – Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.), Self-motivated, and ability to work independently and as part of a team, A sense of Health and Safety, and attention to detail, Ability to lift up to 20 lbs, Ability to comfortably work outdoors in various weather conditions including rain, snow, heat, extreme cold, etc., Valid class 5 driver’s license
Nice to Have
Experience with operating equipment including ATVs, snowmobile, and power boats
What You'll Do.
Support environmental compliance monitoring
Support environmental investigations
Perform construction inspection
Perform waste management
Perform air quality monitoring
Perform spill response
Complete QA/QC of field work
Compile environmental reports
Compile geotechnical reports
Lead yellow alert investigations
Support daily planning
Create and update SOPs
Utilize EQuIS for data management
Prepare observation logs
Use appropriate equipment for monitoring
